Liverpool Aim to Bounce Back After Burnley Defeat

Liverpool travel to White Hart Lane for the early kick-off in the Premier League, looking to get their season back on track, following a defeat at Burnley.

Having defeated Arsenal 4-3 away from home on the opening weekend of the season, Liverpool fans were excited by what they saw and their prospects for the season. However, any aspirations of winning the title, were brought back down to earth by a disappointing 2-0 defeat, to newly promoted Burnley. Jurgen Klopp’s team had all the ball but could not create a good, clear chance on the Burnley goal, resulting in long range shooting, which was often wide or over the target.

Tottenham needed a late winner by new signing, Victor Wanyama, to seal all three points at home, to Crystal Palace. It was a tight game but Spurs had the better of the chances and will feel they did enough to deserve maximum points. Following on from the point gained at Everton last weekend, it has been a decent start to the season for Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs head into this tough looking game, with 4 points on the board.

Tips

We have looked closely at the following aspects of this match, which offer good betting value:

Over/Under 3.5 Goals

Match Result and Both Teams to Score

First Goalscorer

Liverpool Have to Attack

Following the defeat at Burnley and the way the team defended against both them and Arsenal, it seems Liverpool’s best form of defence, is going to be attack. Despite the fact Liverpool failed to score against Burnley and many of their shots were hopeful, long range efforts, they seem incapable of keeping a clean-sheet and much like the Arsenal match, it may be a case of having to score three goals or more, to win the game.

Game Tip: Over 3.5 Goals is 3.1 at Unibet

Tottenham to Remain Undefeated

It’s been a decent but not spectacular start to the new season for Tottenham but they will be pleased to have 4 points on the board and come into this game undefeated. Pochettino will be aware that Spurs have struggled when playing Liverpool in recent years and will spend the week preparing his team to do better this time around. A win here, would signal a great start to the season for Spurs.

Game Tip: Tottenham to Win is 4.4 at 888sport

Janssen to Open His Account

New Tottenham striker, Vincent Janssen has performed well so far this season and put in a tireless shift against Crystal Palace last weekend. The only thing missing from his game, was a goal and the Dutchman will be hoping that will come against Liverpool. It can only be a matter of time before Janssen opens his account for Spurs and his excellent movement, will cause the Liverpool defence all sorts of problems.

Game Tip: Vincent Janssen to Score First is 7 at Ladbrokes
